So........I NEVER saw the Replacements live...How could that be ? I wondered myself , and tonight , at the fire , I had a little trip down memory lane... 1981....Pistons , Replacements , and Suburbs albums come out at the same time....For some reason , there was NO gig featuring all three bands....Somebody dropped a stitch there....Next.... Booted from the Pistons for my immaculate fashion sense , I started playing with Simba.....So...Im on the road playing to hippies and hairy legged ladies in sun dresses doing the spinning Grateful Dead dance...Then , on the road with the Rock-A-Dots...I got to play with Jumpin Joe Hunt , John Haga , and Ross McCloud...That part was fun....6 nights a week on the road at least half of every month wore a guy down...Would have preferred stacking boxes in a warehouse...So by then , it was about 1983...I wasnt around to be hanging in bars , and I was also 86d from the Longorn till its demise...After the Dots I moved to South Georgia for a while , during the Purple Rain years....Came back , and they were on the fizzizle by then...So , somehow I missed them live completely..One of the BEST bass / drum teams of ALL time....Thats my takeaway.... By the by.....All of the Replacements have heard me play.... HIYOOOOOOOO !!!!!!
