So I am diving the warm waters of Indo this morning and I notice a strange-looking fish that I had never seen before. It looked like a filefish with a hair all over its slender, vertically lateral body. It wasnt difficult to photograph; this odd creature was happy to pose for the camera. As I was posting it on FB, I had to figure out what its name is. But how do you look up the name of a fish on Google when, well, you dont know its name? So I just typed into the search hairy filefish. To my surprise, that is the name of this creature: Hairy filefish! AKA, Chaetodermis penicilligera. Apparently, this creature, also called the Tasseled Leather-jacket, uses its hair as a camouflage. All Your wonders praise You! Enjoy these images!
