So I am making a plan for when I am ready to build my car. I am stumped on one part though. I am planning on completely skipping the stereo system by instead using a small high resolution touch screen connected to a small blu ray drive and possibly a in car android system I found. It is a separate unit that is android and connects to existing touch screen car stereo systems to turn the display into an android device. What I am stumped on is where to find a small enough blu ray player ( I thought using a internal computer blu ray drive, but that runs via sata connections. So I thought maybe use an Adrino board to convert from sata to standard HDMI connection). I have no idea how to do that or if it would work, so my other thought was maybe a tablet with micro HDMI but then realized that is HDMI out. Wondering if any of my electronic friends had an idea that wouldnt cost an arm and a leg. The plan is to use the existing hole where the stereo would go to put my custom system. If you can figure out a way to make it work please let me know. I will pay for the work when its time to start the project, but I need a plan of attack now. If it works and looks good, we could patent the setup.
