So I am playing the piano in the cancer center reception/waiting room area when a patient who is having radiation treatments comes to the piano and decides she is going to sing along with me. Fine, except she doesn’t know most of the words to the hymn arrangement I am playing. And she sings in a key that has not yet been discovered by the music world. And her tempo is nowhere near the tempo I am playing. So what should I do other than just smile and try my best to concentrate on what I am playing. If you have any suggestions, please let me know, she may be taking another treatment next week while I am playing.
