So I asked my niece to call her friend to confirm their hang out - TopicsExpress

So I asked my niece to call her friend to confirm their hang out and she said I dont like talking on the phone it kills me! So many things have been depersonalized by technology, no one writes letters anymore, no one talks on the phone or waits until they see the other person. It has taken so much out of life just by the instant gratification we get through technology. It is rare to see someone who enjoys the journey anymore, no one takes the time out to put anything sentimental in letters or gifts. Just click and send, that should make them feel loved and appreciated. The suspense of speaking to a person the next day instead of texting on a whim, has made life boring and it has now been bred into our youth, The apathy of a depersonalized world. I remember being excited to sleep at night so I could wake up and greet the day, now kids just want to sleep in. I remember wanting to explore and go on adventures, now kids just want to play video games and chat about the latest fads. Dont get me wrong, I am not going to throw away my phone or disconnect the internet. But at least I got a chance to live in a once magical world, where gentlemen were chivalrous and women were elegant and chic. Where everything was still new and exciting to see. When Xtreme was just crazy and parents used to spank their kids. When talking about ones mother meant a fight to the death. And Im just realizing that is going to be tough competing in this over stimulated world. Good thing I have amazing friends!
