So I attended a funeral service today at an Anglican Church . It was a very nice service , lots of people & everyone dressed nicely ,having made an effort to pay their respects to a very lovely lady & her family . Seated next to me was a lady ,more than a little on the largish side ( I make no judgement here because I am hardly one to talk ,as far as weighty issues are concerned ..) however , suffice to say that she was more than well covered. Much more ... But I digress... I hear a rustling of paper beside me , I choose to not look . This is soon taken out of my hands as she holds up the Twirl chocolate bar right at my eye level & my peripheral vision cant help but see her chowing down & making short work of this Cadbury favourite . She licks her fingers & I am just trying to cope with my distaste at her bold & disrespectful behaviour when theres further rustling of chocolate wrappers & shes at it again , not content with one , she just has to finish off the second bar ! What the ? I am now worried , perhaps she is hypoglycaemic, about to pass out & was sensibly remedying the situation . I quickly cast my experienced nurses eye over her face & skin. No grey pallor , no excess skin action , no fanning herself or mopping brow , no indication that shes about to suffer a change in her state of consciousness , she looks well perfused. Respiratory rate is normal , all in all she looks mighty calm & as happy as a pig in mud ! So what gives ? Did she stop at the local servo just prior to the service for a supply in case she got peckish ? When did it become acceptable to treat a House of God like a local milk bar ? Anyoned think we were at the movies !!!! Unbelievable BUT true I say to you fellow travellers , sadly , all too true !!! Fat or thin , I dont care , but this kind of carry on is just not the done thing !
