So I bought Microsoft Office for Windows 8 a while back -- I had no choice -- and its been working fine. Until about a month ago. Then suddenly any document people sent me, whether it was Word or Excel, would refuse to open. The messages I got indicated that the files were corrupt, but it was happening to every single file, and LiberOffice could open them. It turns out that some security settings in Excell were blocking everything -- even in Word. I turned those off and now everything is fine again. Those settings werent giving me trouble for several months, so they had to have just been turned on, probably by a Microsoft Update. Microsoft, you suck.
