So I decided to check out the new health insurance exchange myself. I created an application with no problem, blew through the entire process in less than 10 minutes. When I was done, it told me my application was incomplete and that I had to finish it in order to see what insurance plans I qualify for. So I repeated the process. This time it decided it couldnt verify whether I was a US citizen or not, and asked me to verify the information provided and resubmit (the information provided was the answer to the question, Are you a US citizen or US national?). I verified that I had selected yes, and that my SSN was entered correctly, and resubmitted. Again, unable to verify that I am a citizen. I went through this maybe 3 more times before giving up. Im trying to be open minded about the new healthcare law because clearly our healthcare system needs to be changed. I support our president and I admire him for stepping up to take on this challenge, but its hard to remain positive when I keep hearing about working peoples insurance premiums doubling and now have confirmed that the exchange website is a joke. Is our government capable of doing anything right any more?
