So I decided to make the 14hr drive this weekend over to the last rnd of the ABT bream comps at paynesville in Vic , leaving Thursday morning I met Clark in the arvo and continued on to Paynesville , a decision was made to pre fish Tamboon inlet so a 3 hr drive on Friday morning at 3 am and we were there . On the water by 6 we fished the edges and flats for a few good size flatties and a few nice bream , me getting a PB flatty of 60cm and dropping an even bigger one at the yak. After searching the whole lakes Clark still didnt find the elusive baby pelican and after harassing a few pelicans luckily didnt end up with the pelican itch as I was informed. ABT comp was a great weekend although the fish didnt want to play with me on day 1 and after a very frustrating last hour and watching 2 or 3 guys pull fish no more than 10 feet away and not being able to hook even an under size , had to call it a day and ended up with 0 fish in the well. Day 3 saw me make the paddle to duck arm for a second time but this time perseverance and a few tips from a great angler I managed a bag. Sitting in the same spot for 4 1/2 hrs , picking my way through smaller fish to finally get 3 legals. Finishing the comp in 21st place I had an awesome weekend thanks to Clark, Chris , Jason my roomies for the weekend, big shout out to all the other guys for the laughs and weekend shenanigans , congrats to Chris Burbidge well deserved win , cant wait to get to a few more comps next year
