So I determined today that we who serve and have served are nothing but tools in the literal and figurative sense of the word to our “government and leaders”. By no means am I demeaning the sacrifices of those selfless and brave service members (most of which are fellow Marines) who died these past few days and my deepest sympathies go out to the families of the bereaved, but ultimately no one held a gun to their heads to serve in a combat zone, they volunteered for it. What really pisses me off to no degree is the thousands who have made the same sacrifice before them. What makes them any less or more different? Some money? Since when do we quantify a human life in terms of money? All of a sudden these 17 are more important than the 6,000+ who have made the same sacrifice since we started our “war on terror”. This latest “national outrage” is just another political ploy that makes me lose faith in our current political system. I love my country to death and all the ideals it stands for do not get me wrong on that. I have just totally lost faith in our current political structure today, screw Republicans and screw Democrats, I voted for Gary Johnson who wants to end all war, which is the only real solution, peace and love on Earth.
