So I did the HSC last year (Yeah, it sucks balls, I wont deny that) but I just want to share something with you. When I got my midyear report in year 12, I was getting solid Ds across most of my subjects, not because I wasnt smart enough, but because I kind of gave up, and despite having really good notes and a pretty good understanding of the course, I more or less found myself not caring, and it really showed. I was pretty much failing a lot of my classes despite the fact that Ive always, Always been an A grade student, and it was really affecting my motivation and my mindset in general. Opening my HSC results however, you wouldnt have guessed that I was ever failing, with solid band 5s and band 4s across the board, and an Onstage nomination for my Group drama piece. Okay, its not perfect, but I think thats still pretty damn good. Ive since then performed my Drama piece and my graduation, and Im performing it on the 31st, not to mention that I just accepted my offer into the University of my dreams. Moral of the story? You may have screwed up heaps in year 11, but dont let become your downfall for year 12, because you can get the marks you need if you just give a damn.
