So I dont do this normally but I want to go into a dialogue about 2014: This year has brought so much change into my life and introduced me to so many new people and experiences. Im very grateful to have developed into the man I am today and this years trials and tribulations have brought me to a new plane of existence. Im thankful for my family for being kick-ass and getting through all the troubles and joys introduced this year. The Al-Rajhis have always been a durable clan and weve definitely exemplified it this year. We dont half-ass anything, we go FULL-ASS on it!!!! Im thankful to all my close friends. Ive seen them move on in life, get married, have children, start careers, get out of rehab, go through divorce, recover from cancer, lose close ones, shake the world, overcome mental illness, produce great things in science, technology, and art! Everyone I know is kicking ass in life, whether they see it or not. Im thankful for all my NovaBonerz at work for creating such an amazing environment and instilling in me a new assertiveness that I am cultivating whole-heartedly. Ive gained confidence and had it shattered multiple times at work, but its exhilarating nonetheless. I finally have a stable path in science that I love and plan to take advantage of it as much as possible. Im thankful for the good-natured friends at Alter Ego Fitness that have given me inspiration and motivation to get some seriously sick pumps in. Ive grown in strength and confidence and I always leave in a state of bliss. Im thankful for Gainesvilles music scene, from Open-Mic nights at Coffee Culture to playing a sick-ass concert at the Atlantic with Locochino and Captain Lovely, to releasing a boss music video. Im lucky to be a fellow founder of Melting Funk Pot and make new family members with very diverse, eclectic, funky, violent, loving, and screwed up musicians. My viola has now become an extension of me and playing music with these folks has cleansed my mind and soul. The new year is promising me a lot of new challenges; challenges Im excited to take on and get the shit beat out of me! This Arabian Sandstorm is picking up momentum and is going to tear through life, so get your keffiyeh ready to take it on! Enjoy the rest of the year everyone and look forward to an amazing 2015!
