So, I dont know if the fact that its Election Day has anything to do with it or not because I honestly dont even know what were supposed to be voting on, but Ive seen a few different people get on here and post about welfare moms and how lazy we are and all that good stuff.... Im going to take it upon myself to explain a few things to people!! In the state of Kentucky, one doesnt simply get to just set back and draw a check for assistance with their children. To receive my KTAP each month, I have to either volunteer for a certain number of hours each month or have a job working a certain amount of hours!! I myself chose to have a job instead of just volunteering somewhere!! I have worked since the week after I turned 16 years old, so no... I do not feel bad or guilty at all for receiving assistance to raise my child. I do not intend to try and stay on it my entire life, hence the fact that I am in school and will be done in a year, but sometimes everyone could use a helping hand. Furthermore, every single mom I know that receives KTAP or any other kind of assistance works or is a full time student trying to make a better future for their children!! So Im not exactly sure who you people think you are to sit on your high horses and look down upon others because we need help!! You dont know our situations and I could bet you anything that if most of you were in any of our situations, you wouldnt make it near as long as we have because being on welfare is horrible, huh?!
