So I dont think I live in a gopher whole - and I do pay attention to current events and media and pop culture but honestly, I had no idea that Canadian retailers had gone batsh---- gaga into the Black Friday thing. (Seriously, boxing day sales should be enough.) Innocent me headed out to a mall yesterday, because I just needed to pick up a particular something. I even went mid-day (I try to do most public things these days in off hours, as I have the time flexibility and there are less people). Anyhow, I get to the mall and (I dont like malls much anyway) felt like I had been dropped into some kind of wild frenzy of hyper frenetic people paying zero attention to anyone/thing around them fish bowl with head crushing lighting and the smell of mall food. I realised what was going on (all the massive floor to ceiling BLACK FRIDAY SALE!!!!!!!!!!!! signs helped). I fled. I got on the bus. It was, in its own way, just as bad. At any rate, when did Canada start this Black Friday crap?
