So I experienced my first Code Blue today. I had walked a pt just a short distance, got him back to bed the nurse happened to be with me during the walk and getting him back to bed, then he left and I was finishing up. Then the pt looked as though he started to have a seizure so I RAN down the hall and grabbed the nurse. We got back to the room and the nurse sternal rubbed the pt, then told me to push the button, the code blue button. Pt stopped breathing and heart stopped. Then a whole universe of ppl came rushing in the room. Pretty intense, crazy, shocking, scarey and emotionally draining. He started beating and breathing again, so hopefully he will continue to be good.
