So I finally made it through Daft Punks latest CD, Random Access Memories. Very cleaver and somewhat Ironic title btw. (Based off of Random Access Memory or RAM that is found in all computers, yet they made it a point to NOT use computers in the making of this album) I’d give it 1 star out of 5. I was very disappointed. In fact, based on the interview I read about the making of this CD prior to listening to it, I think it was a big FAIL. Way to cheesy. Wrong approach to what I think they were trying to do and the only thing "Daft" about it is the vocoded vocals, which only go so far. Touch - This song belongs in a freakin musical. Sounds like a disco version of Phantom of the Opera. Horrible! Get Lucky (1st single released) - Over Under on how soon we hear this in a Budweiser commercial featuring Pitbull or a “Come to Miami” tourist commercial. Beyond - is a straight up rip off of Michael McDonald’s, I keep Forgettin’ (Sampled and made popular by Warren G and Nate Dogg’s song, Regulate) Comments are welcome.
