So I found something odd, and need a savvy chemist if one is out there... Anybody else ever seen a full replacement of steel cable? I mean, I can believe it, but... Thats a first for me, and googling hasnt yielded any other examples yet... But anyway, all of this material is all from one location, diameter of 20-30 feet. Threw in some photos towards the end of the site itself and an aerial view. Im not even sure that this is entirely a geological phenomenon and not that someone didnt just set a car or something on fire... Lightning hit something weird? I dont even know what to think. For reference, this location is relatively remote, basically in a spot where the only people passing through are out in the hills to avoid parents/the law... It is possible somebody dumped this, but I cant see where it would have come from that this wasnt an exceptionally long distance to nowhere in an area with plenty of nowhere... The metal could have been in place before an incident or added during. Did find another piece of steel cable that was just rusted on the surface about 40 feet away on the other side of a small hill. ...So whatcha think?
