So I gave in, and watched Lucy. Despite the unrealistic aspects of it, it was a good, thought-provoking movie, in my opinion. Lucy stirred up some philosophical ponderings for me, and I wanted to gauge this audience about my particular pontification, and see yours. I consider myself a philosophical layperson. Im not making any assertions, by any means, and my purpose of this thread is to open it up to basically any and all pontifications about existence. Use your imagination, and lay it out for us. You can use current, scientific, coherent explanations and expand them, or you can completely invent a conceptualization about existence. There are no Truths in this thread, only ideas. This means, whether one is idealist, physicalist, or any ism you are aware of, keep the discourse light-hearted and humorous, not debating. Anyway, my pontification is this... What if the start of existence, the moment of something coming into existence, were the cause of a species that harnessed existence, much like the fantastical Lucy, and brought itself into existence. Not necessarily humans, but a form of life that developed beyond the concept of time, harnessing faculties of cognition at quantum size scales. This or these entities bring something in existence. Immediately, I think paradox, but dont feel like I am smart enough to relay this idea in an understandable fashion that wouldnt end up in a paradox. It vaguely sounds like a God concept, but not an initially eternal entity. Am I batshit crazy? Is there already an ism out there that postulates this line of thinking? Contribute to my craziness. Expand on this or take it a different direction.
