So, I get annoyed seeing girls who post constantly about their appearance. Like, Im really pretty today... Or post EVERY time a person tells them theyre pretty. Like, this stranger came up and told me Im pretty. Every once in awhile, I get it... Confidence is a good look that I rarely pull off! Lol. But this always reads as the opposite of confidence to me. Like that these people probably dont really believe theyre pretty, so they try to convince everyone else to convince them. I get that too. Which is probably the root of my annoyance. Most of the time I do not think Im pretty, and in a culture that tells women that such a great deal of their worth should come from their presentation... That can really suck. But I guess when I think about it, I would love to transcend that someday. To be as conscious of all the things I am, as we are taught to be about our appearance. Anyway, it reminds me of this poem that I really love.
