So I got a chance to examine a new, unfired, Remington Arms - TopicsExpress

So I got a chance to examine a new, unfired, Remington Arms Company R51 today. VERY sad. What should have been a great pistol just disappointed me on every level. First glance, it looks pretty. Gentleman behind the counter opened case, takes out pistol, and clears it. It sounds like its got sand in it. He hands it to me. I clear it. It sounds and feels like it has sand in it. Not a little catchy. GRINDING sticking points. The slide was also very stiff and hard to operate. Maybe because of the grinding and feeling that it just... wasnt right. Also, engaging the grip safety made a LOUD click every time I closed my hand around it. The guns points and comes up nicely, but Ive felt smoother operation, consistently, from Hipoints. I dont think Id spend the $399 on it. It seems that, like the 770 and 783 rifles, they just dont care about quality at Remington anymore. I dont think I have ever handed a pistol back behind a counter that quickly in my life.
