So, I got a text message from my network provider (Etisalat) that made no sense. And I call them for an explanation. Spend the next 15 minutes, grilling the guy & asking him to explain features of the plan that Im on. Thats when he tells me that a certain benefit of my plan, is only valid for six months. Something that they somehow neglected to tell me before. I find that there are two other plans that have some similarities to the one that Im on. The guy spends 15 minutes explaining & re-explaining (so that I can be be sure of what I am hearing) various things I wasnt 100% sure of. When he discovered that I was ready to make him go through the same process for the other plans, he was mortified. Dude was probably thinking, Who did I offend, that I got this customer this early morning? I let him go for three reasons: i) he sounded exhausted ii) exhausted people have a way of making mistakes & giving inaccurate information (and regardless of what they claim, I dont believe they record these calls) iii) Etisalat Experience Centres are not so rare that I cannot go into one today, see an actual person & get more information in black & white. No, I am not a pain. When you got a job as a Customer Service Rep, what did you think would happen?
