So, I got the apartment! Which is awesome! Buuuut theres always like 20 catches. Dad pretty much had to do everything he said he absolutely wouldnt do: Cosign for us (he was heavily against having any liability for us on his end), and pay like 25 more per month on rent. Im pretty sure he would have told us to take a hike, but after mom saw the apartment we were GOING to go to, the extra cost could be considered piece of mind investment. So, bottom line, we have a place. Now all I have to do is make my budget work to provide food, electricity, and net access for both my brother and I. The food budget is definitely the pointy end of that particular stick. Im already scheming ways to save money like, say, making my own bread and pizza dough, having lots of canned food, etc, but time will tell how those work out. If my brother actually got a job though, I think my entire family would be collectively more relaxed about this whole thing. One day I will get something awesome and the only strings attached wont be tied to lead anchors. Until then, Ill consider this a win. Yay me!
