So I got up on the Brians BBQ jam stage last night and stumbled my way through three songs with my friends Chris Raabe ,Gregg A. Piller with Jim Lucas playing that killer spalted maple Carvin bass guitar. You must understand that for me, this local place is like the Beacon Theater, so I was pretty nervous, but its getting easier : ). I shall return. My fingers didnt seem to be pushing any of the buttons I told them to, and I never know WTF im doing in an electric ensemble, but I suppose Ill figure it out sooner or later. I am so thankful for venues like Brians Backyard BBQ up here in the OC that do so much to support local music and musicians. That is deeply appreciated. Very nice ownership and staff @ Brians. You pull up to the place figuring the Harley boys are going to beat you to death and it turns out to be the friendliest joint in the world. The owner Brian is obviously a complete music lover and student of the blues. Thanks Brian. Beautiful in-house PA system @ Brians too.
