So, I grew up in Argyle St, just near Mackie and North Road. I have lived in the USA for 10 years now. Last time I visited in December 2013, I saw that so many of the little 1950s houses (including the one I grew up in) have been torn down and these new, ghastly duplexes have been built in there place. I dont know whats worse, the fact that these ugly buildings have popped up everywhere, or the fact that Im now old enough now to be a back in my day person. Its not all bad though. Bentleigh High looks pretty good these days. Moorabbin City Secondary College (as it was called back then) was a complete sh*t hole. Telex Pizza on Centre road is still there? Please tell me it is or I may just have to kill myself The highlight of coming back home is Souvlaki, Wizz-Fizz, Four and Twenty meat pies, Tim-Tams, mixed lollies (minus the black cats obviously) and a huge Capricciosa (followed by massive heart attacks, clogged arteries and super-mega-diabetes. But its totally worth it!)
