So I guess this week I am sharing some super raw emotions with you guys. However, we have shared from the beginning so I feel I need to share this as well. Here is my most recent posts about Dave. ~ I have received lots of texts about Daves appts and I appreciate that so much. As I thought, Dave is having major short term memory issues. For example, the dr gave him three simple words to remember. Three minutes later he asked dave to tell him the words. Sadly, Dave couldnt. However, his long term memory is good but short term and overall cognition is declining. Five yrs of treatments, three brain surgeries, gamma knife on brain and whole brain radiation have caught up with him. I am going to be open and honest again. We do not know where we are headed with him. He will have his brain scan August 5th in Durham NC in a stand up MRI. This will set the tone for what happens next. If you want to have a good talk and visit with him...now is the time. I do not know if his memory/ cognition will stay stable, improve or regress. If it regresses it will not be a time for visiting but rather private family time.I have never been more serious in my life about our situation. I am still positive and at peace just realistic. Hopefully the beach and some margaritas will bounce me back to myself and drake and dave will make great memories. Thanks all!!! I am Loving all the feather pictures! Keep sending them to me!!
