So I had better things to do on my Saturday morning than draft this complaint. How do I love being me. :) Order number: 240423025 Item: Rio Grande Corner Sofa Hello, Whilst the above order was made by my mother, I would appreciate all correspondence to the email address above as the sofa was purchased as gift for myself and I am in receipt of the item. Following the order of a black and grey Rio Grande corner sofa, the item received was Milo. The sofa was fully wrapped so I was unable to see its exterior, but I did raise an issue with the delivery driver about the sofa looking too small for what I had ordered asking him if there was a third piece perhaps, but he reassured me it was the correct item so I put my trust in your company. Not only did you fail to meet you delivery deadline of 7 days (considering the sofa was supposedly dispatched on the 29th, I have no idea why it took over a week for the item to be delivered to my address; it was hardly an international delivery), but the sofa I received was the wrong item priced significantly less than the item my mother had paid for. Considering you were so prompt and precise in emptying my mothers bank account, I would have expected you to be equally punctual and exact with your aftercare, but no, what a joke indeed. Let me point out that I moved to this unfurnished property very recently and have been waiting desperately for all the different goods Ive ordered through groupon; through both mine and my mothers account. Every day absolutely mattered and every day these items were not received past their delivery deadline was another day of disappointment. So now the sofa is finally here and Im absolutely excited. Were slowly turning this empty space into a home, but wait, its the wrong item. Upon discovering the incorrect product, I contacted the driver immediately and told him to collect the item on his way back to Birmingham which he refused, saying that he was told to leave the item with the customer for an exchange process to take place. Firstly, I pleaded with him to collect the sofa on his way back; it would hardly inconvenience him as he would not be going out of his way. I calmly explained that my 1 bedroom flat was full of boxes and I had no room for an item that wasnt mine. My message obviously wasnt clear as he refused saying he was only a driver and he had been given these instructions. Secondly, I have no idea by whom he was given this information considering your phone lines are open from Monday to Friday only, and when I got in touch with the merchant they told me that you alone were responsible for the fault as the minute they sold you the sofas they became groupon goods and your full responsibility to dispatch the correct items to the correct personnel. My common sense told me that I was lied to, so promptly told the driver if he did not collect the item I would throw it out in the street as it wasnt not mine and hence I had no legal responsibility for it. Soon he changed his tune telling me that it would be okay for me to use the item until the delivery of correct item. You can appreciate that by this point I have zero faith in groupon so was unhappy to do this, as by sitting on the sofa and therefore using it, I would be violating the return of goods policy. Last thing I need at this point is for you to turn around and say youve sat on the sofa, it can no longer be refunded or exchanged which is something I could foresee. Since my house is full of boxes and I have no room for a dead weight item, you have until Tuesday 11th November to remove this item from my house, otherwise it really will be going out in the street. I neednt mention that I expect my mother to receive a full refund of the £499.99 she punctually paid for an item that never actually arrived. If this refund is not made, I will indeed be reporting you for theft because there has to have been en exchange of goods; which clearly hasnt occurred. Furthermore, had this even been the correct item, it had damage to it in form of paint on one of the cushions, which I kindly removed for you but have photographic evidence. Supremely disappointed with your service and not only will family cease using it, I will make sure I encourage those I know from doing the same. I expect a prompt reply that does not contain the generic were truly sorry for your trouble and please let me know if I can be of any further assistance. Regards, Ani.
