So, I had my first experience with our new healthcare. The wife - TopicsExpress

So, I had my first experience with our new healthcare. The wife was having some abdominal pains and we rushed her to the ER. After a few tests it was determined that she had a kidney stone. She had all the necessary tests to determine what was causing the pain. As we walked out of the ER to go home, we checked out at the front desk and was told we had a $100 deductible. Now, Im grateful to have the insurance to cover high cost of tests and keep my wife and family healthy. But, with our old plan ER visits were covered 100%. I see this as a step backwards in our coverage. Especially since we now have to find participating doctors, hospitals, pharmacies, and diagnostic imagining to keep OUR costs low, while the company makes huge profits. Too bad others did not see this coming and were Gung ho to ram through a contract, just to get their back pay. Now, we are all gonna pay.
