So I had this hypothesis about the Myth of Helmeted riders and Motorcycle Safety. I was recently told by a friend, If your not wearing a helmet then you are an organ donor. It is a great play on words but. Helmets are not what make a rider safe. The statistics actually reveal something far more scary. My hypothesis is that Helmets cause accidents. I do not mean this literally, instead I intend this to be nothing more than a provocative statement. My hypothesis stated more clearly. Helmets in my opinion give a false ora of safety for rider, as well as a false impression of the Riders safety for others on the road. I also think that increasing brain temperature may play a factor, this causing people to make bad decisions. Together this might explain Drunk Riders. Sure ... .. More Deaths Due to head trauma are those without helmets. .. But.. .. only 50% of the accidents ending fatally (Head trauma or not) were with helmet? ..... More of those wearing helmets suffered debilitating and or fatal neck injury than those without a helmet?? ... Even the Best Full Faced Motorcycle Helmets are only rated for 13 MPH? ? ? SERIOUSLY!! .... States that Implement the Helmet Law saw Fatality Rates RISE???? I agree with the conclusion of this article.. Motorcycle riding, no matter what... Is Dangerous! a Helmet will not Save your life. Riding defensively.. riding responsibly.. riding with caution.. riding with safety in mind.. only that will save your life. bikersrights/statistics/twisting.html
