So I have a Dilemma. Charlie has settle in great here! We have a Foster to adopt opportunity here in Deland area for him. He would have to stay within our rescue until everything is cleared medically INCLUDING his heartworm regardless until we allow him to be adopted to the foster. its what we do here only adopt out medically clear animals. I know some rescue may allow a dog to be adopted while they do slow kill treatment etc, but I just dont like doing that I like adopting out ONLY Healthy medically cleared animals, maybe I shouldnt and should allow her to adopt him right away but we just dont do that! Either way the lady has not been cleared yet to become either a foster or adopter so that will be going through the process she called me last night and I sent her the Foster app, have yet to receive it back, so when I do I will go over it and make the apt to see her house and call her vet etc etc....So it may not even be an option anyways.... My Dilemma.... Even if he goes into Foster our Rescue still pays everything,... So it would be no different to keep him here with me, other then would be one less dog. MY dilemma is how do we know it would even work there? What IF she wants to return him to us? We are moving far about 4 hours to West Palm Beach area. Truthfully I feel Charlie is settling here well, and I think I would like to keep him here til he is done. Im sure when time is right.... I will find him an adopter. My big thing is, I have fallen in love with Charlie and think he also needs some more time and work into becoming a great dog. I think coming from the lifestyle he came from it is BEST he stay here and become the dog I know he can become. So yes thats my Dilemma, if this lady does work out with the app etc, should I actually have her Foster him or not? Should I tell her NOW I think we want to keep him with us, since I ultimately think that is the decision I will make? Or should I make her go through the process only to realize I def want him to stay here? 90% chance I think he should stay until he is done with everything. But then again I know the lady fell in love, but come on....it was TEN minutes with him! So what do others think? Since we are moving and we dont know how it would work out with her even if she passes everything anything could happen in a month or two ya know? Is it best he stay here and learn some manners and to become the dog I know he can with some time and training, and also the fact I love him!!!? Or should I try the lady out? I truly dont know but I think my heart knows!
