So I have a Double Rex Hairless Rat named Benji. I adopted him a little over a month ago off some random online. Little was told about him other than the fact that hes being rehomed because his brother was vicious & had to be put down. Taking him to the vet, I was told hes around 1 1/2. My problem now is that even a month later & daily free range times with my other males, he still plays really rough. Hes actually harmed two of my boys to the point of needing stitches. This only happens when they come near me, as it seems hes very protective. He wont let any other rat near me whatsoever during free range time. When alone with the other males, he still likes to play fight, but not to the point where I hear squeaks. My other boys range from a five months of age, to four years old. Hes currently in his own separate cage but I cant help but feel as if hes at least a little bit lonely. My questions are: Is this normal for him to be this aggressively protective? Is there anyway I can get him to not be as aggressive with the others? Im not putting him down so please dont suggest it.
