So, I have a contract on my to sell. The real estate company gets a letter from the Labette County Sanitation officer. As you may or may not know, all sorts of inspections and things must be done when a real estate transaction goes down. Anyway, sanitation guy states that it appears I have a 500 gallon round septic tank (live in rural) and that 1000 gal is required. Further more the lateral lines are not working correctly either. Now I will state here that I personally dug the hole with a backhoe and was present when a square 1000 gallon tank was lowered into the hole. I even filed it with some water so it would not float out of the ground if it were to rain before we began using it. Now, I ask you, how much credence should I put on the second statement that the lateral lines are not working when the guy cannot tell a circle from a rectangle. Also, I dug up the original copy of the permit I got from the county when I did the septic system new! I guess my complaint is, where do we find these so called inspectors, why do we allow the government to get involved when they cannot even do the job correctly? really tired of ignorant government intrusion on a less than mediocre level or expert level for that matter!!!!
