So, I have a question. I got a high strung saddlebred who apparently has my toddlers metabolism and I am jealous j/k ;) I am looking at changing his diet up as a feel like there should be a better way to feed him. I am wanting to switch him to alfalfa hay (about 3 flakes twice daily) with unlimited access to coastal Bermuda. On top of that I am planning on feeding him adm staystrong (anybody got any experience with that feed? It is supposed to have all the key vitamins, minerals and electrolytes in it). Possibly some best pulp just to mix everything together. Can an up and coming endurance horse be okay on that type of feed? Or maybe too much alfalfa? I am trying to move away from the ungodly amounts of grain and supplements I currently feed and more to a forage first mentality. I am however worried that he may drop weight especially now that he is being worked quite a bit. Thanks :)
