So, I have a whacky story for you, Folks....I was out, yesterday, - TopicsExpress

So, I have a whacky story for you, Folks....I was out, yesterday, with my agent, looking around at a few listings, and there was one, in particular, that claimed to have 18,000 square feet, available, which was divisible down to 1,000 square feet. We added this one to to our stops, as a potential, due to the location. Well, when we got there, the spaces were still in the concept and idea phase, for this person. He kept saying, we could possibly chop and sever this part..and offer you this..and knock that entire wall out..and install glass and windows...and this and that.., which could be great..for the right person...and the right timeline...mind you, this was a massive building, and he what he was pitching as construction, was not some easy undertaking...by any means.. I was thinking hes gotta hire a General Contractor..and get his drawings approved...and submitted to the City, etc, etc, etc. He was describing a Building Permit & Zoning Permit hell to me...willing to take out supporting walls and such. I need to secure a space, relatively soon...not one year down the road. I expressed this to him. So, then, he says to me....and if those ideas dont interest you, then I do have another space...you may want..and its currently being used as a variety store, next door. The owner is 90 years old....and hes been there forever....why dont you go and check it out... to which I reply, well, does that mean he has a plan to relocate? Or, does he intend to actually retire? Or, is he working on the Freedom 95 Plan?... Then the owner of the building, stops, and turns on his heels. He looks at me all smug like, and he says, Well, I did say he is 90 years old. So, it really just depends on how soon you need to do this...if you know what I mean??? Oh-Em-Gee!!!!!!!! This man did not just offer up his tenants variety store, to me, as a potential spot for my business...provided I was willing to wait for him to die????? I did not look over at my agent, because I just knew...both of us, were gonna loose our composure...over what we had just heard.
