So I have been busy this past weekend --and so have Rose, Will and Harper. We were to go to PA for Thanksgiving with my mother in law but the weather stopped us from going till Thanksgiving night. We drove part way and stayed at a hotel in Winchester VA--Harper thought everyone was there for her!!--she greeted everyone she met with a tail wag and the look that said I know I am beautiful and it IS all about me! We had Bigfoot in the room above us and it was annoying but the dogs were good and did not bark. The next morning we set out for PA--it was cold and sunny and the trip was uneventful. The dogs got to see Grandma and eat dinner in the parking lot of Cracker Barrel on the way home. Saturday I took Will and Harper with me to grocery shop--we started out early and went to Crump Park where they have a working farm. It is one of their most favorite places to go--so much to see and smell!! We went to see the hogs (the fence has cut-outs for kids to look in--perfect height for Will and Harper) Harper stuck her nose in and saw a little hog (is there really such a thing?) looking right back at her--she screamed from excitement and the hog snorted back. On to the mules and oxen--Harper put her head in between the fence slats and the mule (hes a big sucker) put his head down and let her sniff him--they were nose to nose --too cute!! The sheep were put up but the turkeys were loose and came after us!! You would think they would be grateful to still be around two days after Thanksgiving but NO--they were running right for us and making turkey sounds that did not sound friendly--we took off at a fast walk and when I looked back the tom had fanned his tail out and made himself BIG--Will was like the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz --let me at him--I can fight him with one paw behind my back--I dont think so bud. We went grocery shopping and then to McDonalds and then to their other favorite park Echo Lake--by the time we got home it was getting dark and we were all pooped. Sunday is Football day so we hung out and watched Peyton Manning get 5 touchdowns and help us win our Fantasy Football game--of course we still had two long walks so everyone was tired out in the evening. Now we come to yesterday--I had a chiropractor appointment and took everyone with me. I knew the chiropractor would be in a great mood cause he is a BIG time Auburn fan (and was at the Iron Bowl on Saturday)--lucky for me cause you dont want someone in a bad mood cracking your neck (Just kidding Dr Ruilli ) After that we went Christmas shopping at Orvis and Plow and Hearth--two pet friendly stores--Will and Harper came in with me--they love to shop and everyone in the store found them to be darling--they were very well behaved and invited back to both stores (they got cookies too)--another walk at Echo Lake -this time with Rose --and then home again--today just two long walks around the neighborhood and so well deserved rest--Wow that was a lot of stuff to do--and always better when done in the company of three redheads!!
