So I have been watching a case that has been precedent setting in the USA with a brave woman choosing to not only tell her story of abuse, but to also sue the offenders and those responsible for the continued abuse. Please follow the link to hear her story on what happened to her. The offender is in prison serving a 14 year sentence, but Conti also sued mutliple parties within the religious org. The court has awarded her $28 million in damages, a portion per party responsible. The main party known as the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society appealed and today their appeal was heard that lasted a little over 30 minutes, without the justices receiving clear answers to their questions. The decision is expected in 2-3 weeks time and I will update then. I am sharing this story as it is time that religious groups such as the Jehovahs Witnesses be exposed for their wrong doing inside their organization ... but I am sharing it more as support for Conti who has taken them on face to face, has stood her ground and showed she is not going to be silenced anymore!! I support her too as I was a JW myself and like many of us, our stories of abuse were ignored! Standing with you Candice Conti!!
