So I have to say I am totally on cloud 9 tonight....Today was the 3rd day of Sarates and my awesome week. Started with the amazing pics on Sunday by Piink Whitt-Schingen (thank you, thank you, thank you), then yesterday we trailered to Northstar Equestrian at Greenfield Farm and had a dressage lesson with Erinn Bieber. We learned a lot and she commented I dont think you realize how much horse you have here, meaning potential. She said she saw glimpses of it and it was great. Today we had our first jump lesson (mine in 20 years) with Bethany Parins. My expectation was that she would have me ride in 2 point position, go over trot poles, etc...well I was WAY off. We started by chatting and she asked me what I know, I said Well, really nothing, but I know Sarate has never refused, no matter how much I screw up. So we started trotting over a little cross rail and she corrected a few things (on me, not Sarate)....well by the end we were jumping over hay bales, fake block walls, a coop and a vertical - all at least to my knees if not above (a combination of 4 jumps in a row). AND to top it all off she said You are sitting on a little pot of gold here - she is a cute jumper, tucks her knees up nice and wants to do the work, and has a heart of gold. All you have to do is hang on and let her go. Well after that I think I could have jumped over those jumps without her! Sarate is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING and I am so glad I didnt sell her. She is so very special. I am once again in love with jumping and plan to continue! PS: I did almost fall off when she bucked after jumping a few jumps in a row, Bethany said Its OK, she is just really excited that she did that - she is saying Woo Hoo, Look at me - I just completed the Olympics. Now we will top it all off with a Brad Hall clinic on Friday...we will both need a rest after this week!
