So I havent really shared some good news. Im fact it didnt dawn me on to share it until now. Yours truly had a lovely run in with Dr McCutey on Tuesday. Hes such a flirt, but Im not complaining. Hes also the ortho doctor who did my hip surgery last April. Well as of the current scans, it seems not only have the fractures healed beautifully, but the head of the femur (aka ball) which was damaged, leaving a nickel-sized bone chip wedge between the ball & socket and uneven surface, has also (after reshaping) healed well. The cartilage surrounding the socket had to be staples into the bone, and its looking great. Only downfall is the tendons need some work by way if Physical Therapy, as they have healed too tightly, causing strain & pain. So all in all, things are looking up! He assured me with a stretch of PT, I could conceivably be able to get back into running and easy hiking within the year! Unfortunately, news regarding the spinal damage is less enthralling with no definitive end in sight. As for now, Im just happy to know that at least one of the injuries is on the right path!
