So I just get back from SF where I parked at one of these so-called smart meter for several hours... I pay my money and the meter is set to expire at 2:45... I happen to get back to my car good 30 minutes earlier at 2;15 and guess what? My meter had already expired. The car next to me which came at the same time and was headed to the same place also had their meter expired..Luckly I didnt get a ticket but that wouldve been all bad if I did, with me having a major hard time proving my case if they even let you go to court..The ticket wouldve been $74 bucks and if I didnt pay it within a couple of weeks it would increase... Thats money that could spent on local businesses vs a parking department This is the BS that our gentrified/privatized cities are on..Trying to squeeze pennies from us every which way...You do the right thing and here u have the powers that be trying to rip u off anyway with ill-timed meters.. I guess my lesson for all is to take a picture of your meter just in case and give a middle finger to the Mayor and anyone else overseeing the rampant greed that now dominates this once beautiful city by the Bay and understand we are no longer welcome there..
