So I just got back from seeing the new Teenage Mutant Ninja - TopicsExpress

So I just got back from seeing the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie. It was definitely better than I expected it to be. That said, I had VERY VERY LOW expectations for it. It made me laugh a few times. Some of the action was cool-ish. But it was very Michael Bay, even though he only produced it. Someone else directed it. There are a few nods to the original stories, however. Some are subtle, and some not so much. My personal problems with the film (No spoilers) The turtles do not act like teenagers, with the exception of Mikey. There is way too much CGI in the film. The turtles look and act like gangsters or thugs, not ninjas. I feel like they could survive well in like Oakland. Raphs mask is actually a full, head-covering doo-rag. Much of the known origin story is changed It is very Michael Bay. Many of the action sequences are filmed in such a way that things are happening way too fast to be able to tell what is happening. Random, Michael Bay-esque slow-mo Cheesy and/or pointless dialogue. The turtles all seem to be there for comic relief. They remind me of the twin transformers from the 2nd movie, You know, the ones who just say stupid things and are more about physical humor than any witty writing? Anyway, like I said. Better than I thought itd be, but still not something I plan on watching over and over.
