So, I just read some very sad, tragic news that really puts things in perspective. John Fasano, who I considered a friend, passed away in his sleep last night. John wrote some HUGE Hollywood Blockbusters such as ANOTHER 48 HOURS and the horror movie, DARKNESS FALLS. He was nominated for a Writers Guild Award in 1996 for writing the teleplay for The Hunchback for TNT. And, he also wrote the hit Tom Selleck TV movie Stone Cold. He directed the T.V. movie MURDER AT THE PRESIDIO, among several other films and Produced no fewer than 21 pictures, including serving as Associate Producer on TOMBSTONE, starring Kurt Russell and Val Kilmer. But, more than that John was a real person. I remember being out in L.A. one year to write a project and took John and Duane Whitaker and Daniel Roebuck out to dinner to celebrate what was a wonderful working experience - was always a fun memory. I remember another time having dinner with John and Duane and Dan and some others. This makes me sad, but it also puts some things in perspective. Life is short folks - sometimes shorter than you can imagine. Make it count. Many condolences to his family, including his children, and his many friends. John, Im sure GODs got a Blockbuster for you to work on. Adios. deadline/2014/07/screenwriter-director-producer-john-fasano-dies-at-52/
