So I just read this article in Fowlerville News and Views about a local women that got scammed on Facebook. So was chatting with a family member on FB about a health issue happening in the family. The person she was chatting with had to step away from the computer to tend to dinner. Then this person came back on to finish the chat, they recommended that this women go to a website to apply for financial help or a grant. So this women did but this website wanted $500 to process the request, she gave them her credit/debit card number. The women then called her family member up to ask her about it and the family member said that her FB account had been hacked and that she was not the one that gave the website information. (this is a rough synopsis of the article) Word of advice, if someone you know on FB tells you to go to a website and that site asks you for money DONT DO IT!!!!
