So I just spent two days at the University with my son Nicholas who will be headed off this fall. It was so great to see all the kids with all their fresh faces and eagerness and excitement about going to the University. All I could think of was how much I wanted to protect them from the world that was waiting for them just 4 to 6 years in their future. None of them had the lines on their faces from years of worry and stress and just trying to get by. There is no way I will ever tell a college student everything that they are facing in the future because with any luck theyll have things changed and they will inherit the world that theyre hoping is out there waiting for them.
