So, I just talked to USAA today when I opened up a claim to get a rental car with our rental coverage. Just an FYI: They have THREE adjusters assigned to helping us with our claims. Thats three people to handle what Im sure amounts to hundreds of claims. After getting bounced around from customer service to US claims to International claims, I was sent to the team dedicated to working strictly on the shipping losses. So, while most of the customer service reps working are aware of the issue, some still arent up to speed on who we need to talk to or how to proceed. Before transferring me (for the 3rd time) to the team the rep I was working with had to double check his emails about procedures because he wasnt sure what the current process is as it has changed several times. But, at this point, they are not paying out replacement value or KBB for any vehicles because they cannot confirm if the vehicles are loss or stolen. Frustrating for those of us left holding the bag but I cant even imagine how much money USAA would be out if they paid us all for our missing vehicles and then had our vehicles show up in 6 months with additional damages. It would be a nightmare. I dont expect USAA to pay for my car (unless I get it back damaged) and all I wanted was a rental since I cant reach Mike Todd or Karen Olsen via phone or email. So, if you havent made a claim yet, just call them and tell them you need to speak to the claim team handling the vehicles lost in shipment so you dont get bounced around like I did.
