So, I learned an interesting lesson yesterday. When you write about race (or rather, reparations) for mainstream publications you attract racists. Yahoo news reposted my article about Ta-nehisis reparations piece from TakePart and it got over 7000 comments, most of which were angry (or down right vile), and many included personal attacks. One I read just got straight to the point: *$&% Britni! lol Ive written about race FOR YEARS, and never before have people rolled into my FB page or Tweets like, Why do you hate white people?!! Youre horrible! Black people are lazy! Audience matters, I suppose. Its also funny that an article about the affects of systematic white supremacy would bring out so many white folks who claim to not to be racist, but proceed to say some effed up things about race. Oh the irony. Anyway, good morning!
