So I learned this weekend that at one point in time there were 2 banks in Iroquois. I think somewhere around 1919 (I think) the two banks merged together into Farmers & Merchant. Also, Arthur Walters bought the building around 1930ish. In 1935 he passed away. On June 1943 his only surviving brother, Elmer, went to court to collect the building. However, on June 1943 Charles Greer had already been to the court to pay the past due taxes for $205 so Elmer had already lost the building legally through Kingsbury County Courts due to the past taxes, but was 2 months too late. Greer made a huge profit when he sold the building for $7,400 to Howard and Edna Hoevet.
