So I live in a building which is taken care of my a maintenance - TopicsExpress

So I live in a building which is taken care of my a maintenance and lawn care team. For a while, that team was out of town. I volunteered to pull tons of weeds out from around the parking lot, which were growing from the cracks in the concrete, as well as pull some old dead plants along the side of the building and up-root some vines which were growing in the bushes. The owner had already sprayed weed killer around the parking lot (approximately 300 linear feet) and I went behind and did my best to pull their roots out of the concrete. That was the tough part, had to be careful enough to get the roots out, and eliminate every single trace of weeds growing in the parking lot. I even used a spade and scraped up my knuckles on the concrete. I even cleaned up moss that was starting to grow. I spent about 4 hours total doing all this work. Also did some cleanup things like destroyed spider webs/nests uglifying the bushes, and trimmed the bushes somewhat so the obvious branches werent sticking out. He had offered me to use hedge trimmers, but I used my scissors instead. When I volunteered to the owner to clean it up, he told me to go ahead and make an invoice out for however much I wanted. Im not a lawn care guy, I have no clue how much these things cost. Today, the building owner stopped me and asked me why I havent invoiced him yet, and actually seemed to have an angry look in his face. Hes a former UK basketball player, and has a big scar across his face. I told him Oh dont worry about it and he came back basically scolding me about business and how it works. I was kinda shocked that he seemed to be demanding me to invoice him. So, for those of you who are familiar with this type of work, how much would you have charged?
