So I loaded and test fired my first 50 rounds of .45 acp this weekend. Had one ... Ill call it a Poofer...lol. Must have been a low load. Noticed it immediately and checked for a squib, and all was ok. Not liking this 800x powder at all. It was very dificult to meter, and the low load made it through the powder cop, or I simply did not see it. Had to stop several times when the powder cop did signal a low or empty case. The powder drop would deliver several correct throws in a row (I checked them continuously on a beam scale) and then throw a really low one. At this point, I am blaming the 800x for the inconsistency which leads me to my question: What pistol powders meter very well and are also superb for 9mm and 45acp? Am thinking ball powders, but open to others as long as they fit the above criteria. I understand the shortage and all, but there has to be something better than the 800x out there!
