So I meet a new friend yesterday as I go to pick up my kids. His name is Douglas and he confronts me about my conservative bumper stickers on my SUV. Its not hard to tell that Douglas is gay, blatantly obvious. He tells me that he is thinking about becoming a tea party member. This catching my interest, I tell him about a few websites he can look into. He asked if I want to know why it is that he is totally changing. He asks if I am for gay marriage I said no, he answered that most people are not, however he is married to his partner. He tells me that getting married was a long difficult process and after all the heart ache he finally did it and now with Obama Care he and his partner can not afford to be married and they are considering a divorce. I asked how is this so? He said that under his partners insurance the rates per month is more than their house payment. Not only that he can not leave that insurance for a year and thats just too much money. The only way to get out of it is to file for a divorce so he can go on the exchanges which no one can get on anyway. He is really really pist off about this, hates Obama for ruining his life. He is mad and is going to join the tea party. So something I learned here, this is going to hurt a lot of people, even gay couples who are married, hey they are married like we are married. So much for their liberalistic idealisms. But divorce? That is something I had not heard before, but that is one way to get around the high monthly premiums and the deductibles. So Douglas, welcome to the conservative side, we may not believe in gay marriage, but we sure as hell dont believe in what they are doing to you and your partner.
