So I missed an event I was invited to that was themed with Ides of March, Cthulhu Mythos and Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass. Needless to say, Im disappointed at missing the chance to see the costumes, not to mention the event itself. The mashup of those elements has been playing in my head and found its way out in the form of a poem. Ides and Chaos (to the rhythm of The Jabberwocky) Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in Roman wabe all mimsy were the populace when they sent Caesar to his grave From out of time a haruspex gave warning of the Ides of March the powers of a seer true Though Caesar thought it all a farce Horrors rose, the stars were right the senate plotted sacrifice Brutus drew his knife that night and Caesars blood would pay the price In distant Rlyeh, in the depths Cthulhu stirred, his slumber broke Nyarlathotep preached doom and death foretold of that which had awoke The chaos came to Rome that day when Caesar fell on brothers knife, a final plea, Et tu Brute? as the senate took his life. Twas brillig and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in Roman wabe all mimsy were the populace when they sent Caesar to his grave
