So... I ran in to a situation recently where Ive lost a gig due to a new law in California that requires venues that provide entertainment to carry California Workmans Compensation insurance. The club either couldnt or wouldnt pay for it so theyre going to dump all their bands and have no entertainment there anymore. This should send a shock wave through out the entire musical community. If clubs have to pay for insurance on their entertainers theyre either going to cut the music all together or cut pay to make up for the added expense. Does anyone know about this? Have any feedback about this?
